Aero Drone Corporation is an incorporated company founded in 2016. The corporation operates out of three locations, with the training Academy and offices in Tygh Valley, software development based in Hillsboro, and business operations and project management conducted from Mosier, in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon’s “drone hot spot.” Aero Drone Corporation is led by: Russell Hargrave, President; Mike Davis, Director of Services; and Training, and Thurman Miller, Chief Technology Officer.

Mike Davis, the founder of Aero Drone, has over 35 years of experience with business startups related to aviation, manufacturing and international logistics across 17 counties. He previously owned and operated an FBO, created a Flight School and managed a successful charter operation. In addition to holding a FAA Certification as a Remote Pilot, he is a FAA Certified Commercial Pilot rated in both single and Multi-engine aircraft. Mr. Davis holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Law. He is a Professor in sUAS Technology at Columbia Community College and has developed accredited sUAS classes for their EM-TECH program. He is Certified in Thermography (FLIR) and Photogrammetry (Pix4D) and has qualified the College in The Trusted Operator Program (TOP) at the ASTM level for sUAS Flight Training. Mr. Davis is Level 2 TOP certified instructor.
Thurman Miller, Chief Technology Officer
Thurman brings over 25 years of software development and management experience architecting and managing teams to create mission critical software for Nike and Intel. He delivered Intel's Business 2 Business platform to allow all suppliers, customers and financial institutions to automate transactions between these companies. He also deployed hundreds of releases in support of Intel's Corporate Quality Network (CQN). Thurman has deep technical and business acumen, understanding how to balance goals with timelines, resources and financials. He specializes in creating high performance teams that create solutions with very high quality in short duration cycles. Focusing teams on improving velocity, efficiency and maintenance while balancing technology churn. His breadth of experience allows him to create drone software that is flexible and can be easily customized without any additional programming effort. Before coming to Aero Drone, Thurman managed a 60+ person automation organization for Corporate Quality Network (CQN), creating & maintaining over 120 software applications serving over 5,000 users.
As president of Aero Drone Corporation, Russell Hargrave brings more than 25 years of experience developing and supporting technology products and services. In addition to leading Aero Drone's business, Mr. Hargrave has been responsible for project management of AeroDrone’s consulting projects, authorship of drone operations and safety manuals, and software documentation and user implementations. As Information Technology Director at Intel, Mr. Hargrave drove factory automation and created and managed capabilities such as Intel’s IndiaDevelopment Center. Prior to Intel Mr. Hargrave was part of the leadership team at Wang Laboratories developing innovative office automation products. Mr. Hargrave holds a degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University and is a Certified Thermographer and Project Management Professional (PMP).
